Armed Forces Medical College is a premier medical Institute of India acknowledged as a centre of excellence for medical education and research. The college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical students with assured career prospects in the defence services. AFMC doctors serve the most sensitive area (defence), hence Govt. ensures the doctors serving there, to be the best. They also occupy key positions in the armed forces. Their starting rank in the armed forces is of a Captain or equivalent. AFMC, Pune conducts its own Entrance Examination.

Career in Commerce is also a good option; further studies lead to brighter career options like CA/CS, Financial manager, Finance analyst, and Investment analysts. Though for a bright career it takes long and sustained hard work to get to the top, Career in Finance, Investment analyst etc., are well pursued by Engineering graduates with little training after graduation.
Many Surveys indicate that, there are more Engineers in Institutes of Management and in Investment Banks than commerce graduates. The current corporate ecology isn't very conducive for growth of commerce graduate without specialized qualifications.
